How did you feel when you woke up this Sunday?
This Sunday, when I woke up, my mind took me to the past and made me remember the lovely memories of my childhood and the excitement I used to have on Sundays. While I was relishing these memories, my mind brought me back to the present and I started thinking about the tasks that I need to complete this Sunday.
Think about your daily routine, your tasks and your responsibilities not only for weekdays but also for weekends. Most of our time is spent in performing our duties and responsibilities (whether it is family related, work related or society related) and slowly we see that these factors heavily influence us in terms of our mood or how we feel.
Let's take the example of a plain white paper. If you give this white paper to an artist, they will paint it with their imagination and the identity of white paper no longer remains. This happens to all of us all the time. The society paints their imagination on our lives and with the consideration of performing our duties and responsibilities effectively we allow them to leave their reflection on us and then we forget ourselves. We may be very kind and humorous. But this may change when we take up several responsibilities and our situation does not allow us to be humorous or cheerful any more. We start becoming more serious and see our nature/ behaviour being different than our original self.
However, we should always remember that although the white paper has been painted on the front side, the back side of the paper is still white and the main identity of the paper is white. Similarly, we should wake up every day and remind ourselves of our true nature, likings, passion, and not completely allow the society to silently forget ourselves.
Remember, you cannot help others to pull and wear their oxygen mask unless you wear yours. Therefore, don't forget to find yourself every day by deciding how you want to feel or what you want to do that day to feel satisfied at the end of the day rather than just feeling and doing things based on others reactions.
