Everytime we see any movie/series which is based on characters representing a specific country (no matter what field they are related to), we get very inspired and feel proud about opportunity given to those people to represent their country especially when it comes to the area of sports. The contemplation that soon comes to our mind is that the people who get a chance to represent their country officially are very lucky and we start dreaming of getting such opportunity.
Let's meditate on this scenario...Don't we all represent the organization we are associated with or the country we are originated from or the country we reside in, whether directly or indirectly? Then isn't this to be considered as a chance given to us to represent the concerned organization/ country ultimately and therefore it is our responsibility to serve such an organization or country in the same manner as the sports player does when he/she represents his/her country officially.
A laborer prepares handicraft materials by staying in a small town or village but still adds to the country's income by increasing the income from exports or tourists. A clerk contributes to the performance of the organization he/she works (although by doing clerical work) which indirectly adds to the relevant country's performance. A young girl who created a remarkable art work for her school was selected for interschool competition based on this art work and then at a country level competition and subsequently international level. How would have this happened if she would have hesitated to create the art work for her school at the first instance? Similar examples can be used for individuals living and working in their own country as their work not only helps them to earn income but also adds to the overall GDP of a country when looking at a larger picture.
For the people residing and working in a foreign country, it becomes much more necessary to ensure that the reputation from the country they belong to is protected at all times and that no act is performed which could affect the reputation of the country they belong to or of the people of that country. When a person is sitting in a conference or meeting room with people from other countries, irrespective of what is the role of that person, the behaviour of the concerned person affects the reputation of the relevant organization/ country indirectly. Even the manner one talks with neighbours, colleagues, people from other nationality gives a feeling about the family, society and country he/she comes from.
It is our duty to be extra mindful while performing the day to day duties, tasks and behaviour as it is very clear from the above that each one of us gets chance every single day to represent our family, community, organization and ultimately the country and this is not restricted to certain people. This will also change your overall attitude and motivate you to give your best admidst various challenges.
